Corte Madera and Larkspur Go Deep Green

Apr 25, 2017

In more successes spearheaded by 350Marin and its environmental allies in Marin, on April 17th and April 19th, the cities of Corte Madera and Larkspur respectively became the 5th and 6th City or Town in Marin to choose “Deep Green” 100% Renewable energy for all their city services.   These two cities now join Fairfax, San Anselmo, Belvedere, and Sausalito, as well as the Marin Agricultural Land Trust, Point Reyes National Seashore, and the Tamalpais Community Services District in taking their electricity use Deep Green.  One of the county’s top energy users, the Marin Municipal Water District, committed to go Deep Green last fall, and that action will become effective on July 1st.   If citizens keep up the pressure, the likelihood is growing that the entire public sector of the county will commit to clean energy use.  The move is being considered in the next month or two by Marin County, Mill Valley, San Rafael, and Novato   See HERE for more information about the upcoming votes and how you can help.
