Getting to Paris Without Going Through Washington

September 15, 2018 at 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

How can we make rapid progress toward stabilizing the planet’s climate during a time when climate delayers and deniers wield so much power in the US government?

On the evening of Saturday, Sept. 15th, don’t miss this very special affiliate event of the Global Climate Action Summit organized by Time to Lead on Climate and Drawdown Marin:

Christina Figueres, the architect of the Paris Climate Agreement and California EPA Secretary Matt Rodriguez will speak, and join in conversation with UC Professor Daniel Kammen, contributor to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Congressman Jared Huffman, Marin Supervisors Kate Sears & Damon Connolly, Novato Mayor Josh Fryday, Marin School of Environmental Leadership student Cameron Evans and mayors from cities around the planet, will join them, discussing how citizens and communities can come together to achieve global climate goals.

The event will be held at the Diamond Center Gymnasium, 700 College Ave., Kentfield.

Come at 5:30pm if you’d like to relax and enjoy the Marin Climate Showcase, celebrating the bounty and activism of Marin with samples of local wines, tastes, sweets and to read about and discuss climate solutions with activists from our local groups. The speakers program will begin at 7pm.

The ticket cost is $20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. RSVP and purchase your tickets in advance to assure seating HERE. You can see the flyer for the event HERE.

We look forward to seeing you there, and hearing a fascinating update on ways we move around and past the current climate blockade in Washington toward a climate future that works!
