DESCRIPTION:Tell the Big Banks to Stop Funding Climate Chaos!  Ask Your Neighbors to Move Their Money!\nWe know that the world is burning\, and big banks are throwing fuel on the fire.  Frontline communities\, scientists\, and youth are urgently calling to keep fossil fuels in the ground. Yet big banks  are choosing to fund and enable massive new fossil fuel projects like the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota\, with no signs of slowing down.\n\nJoin us at 3:30 pm for an hour long protest at Citibank\, 666 Third Street near 101\, in San Rafael!  Some signs are provided or bring your own! \nGiven the ongoing public health risks of COVID – while this event is outdoors\, we still encourage attendees to be mindful of social distancing and wearing of masks. If you feel sick – please stay home. \nYesterday\, 135 people were arrested for chaining themselves to the White House. Taking action as part of the People V Fossil Fuels week of action\, their demand of President Biden was simple: stop fossil fuel projects and declare a climate emergency. \n\nThis is vital work. President Biden has massive power to stop and shut down fossil fuel projects ― power that he has so far refused to use. If you are in the DC area\, we encourage you to join People vs. Fossil Fuels on the streets every day this week. \nIt’s also vital to remember that the White House is not the only global power center enabling the climate crisis. Without the backing of major banks\, such as Citibank\, fossil fuel companies wouldn’t be able to afford to build pipelines like Line 3 and DAPL in the first place. \nThat’s why we are swamping the office of Citibank CEO Jane Fraser with calls\, demanding that Citi stop funding the fossil fuel industry.
