SUMMARY:March for Science - San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY UPDATE:  If you’d like to meet-up with other 350Marin members and take the ferry to the Embarcadero and the march tomorrow (Saturday)\, members are meeting in front of the Larkspur ferry ticket office for the 9:30am ferry.   We’ll have a number of free signs available to carry in the march for those who’d like them.  Plan on arriving well ahead of the 9:30 departure time (perhaps at 8:45-9AM) to assure a spot on ferry\, given the possibility of a crowd going to the march!! \nBut however you get there\, join 350Marin and others from around the Bay Area as we meet up on Earth Day\, April 22nd\, for the March for Science in San Francisco.  The crowd will gather for a rally in Justin Herman Plaza\, at Market St. and The Embarcadero at 11AM.  At 12:30PM\, we’ll march down Market St. to the Civic Center.  The day will finish up with a Science Fair in Civic Center Plaza from 2-5PM. \nAs many in the current administration foster anti-scientific views that deny the reality of climate change or evolution\, scientists have called for a big March for Science in Washington DC on April 22nd\, and satellite marches in cities around the country.  Here in San Francisco\, the satellite march celebrates public discovery\, understanding\, and distribution of scientific knowledge as crucial to the freedom\, success\, health\, and safety of life on this planet. The organizers of the event are a nonpartisan group\, marching in support of the following goals: Communication\, Funding\, Policy\, Literacy\, and Diversity.  The poster below shows the March route and details.  You can also keep an eye out for updates on speakers or additional information on the March’s website at HERE. \n \n  \n
