SUMMARY:Tuesday\, March 9th\, Tell Novato City Council: "NO COSTCO MEGA-GAS Station"!
DESCRIPTION:As you may know\, on March 9\, Novato City Council will hear an application from Costco to build a 28-pump gas station at Vintage Oaks in Novato.  This gas station is unneeded and ecologically damaging\, and counter to the Novato City Council’s recent Climate Emergency declaration that it will prioritize addressing our climate crisis in all future planning.  You can read 350Marin’s detailed statement on why we oppose the gas station here. \nIt’s likely that only strong public opposition to Costco’s plan before the Council can stop this plan from going forward at this point.  If possible\, join the Novato Council zoom meeting tomorrow and voice your opposition.  Here are the full range of options that you can choose to do one or all of to help stop this unwise and damaging project from being approved. Note: you do not have be a Novato resident to comment on this as many in Marin shop at Vintage Oaks or are Costco members: \nOption #1:  Written Comment Deadline Tuesday 3pm:  Leave an “e comment” on the Novato City website or  send  an”email” to novatocouncil@novato.org\nInstructions for e-comment: Click https://www.novato.org/government/city-council/agendas-minutes Then just click on the e-comment button.  It will take you to the agenda items for this meeting.  Then go to the second page under agenda item I.1) Costco Fuel Facility\, – you will find a “comment” button on the lower right side you can click on. Costco Fuel Facility comes up on the agenda (speak up for up to 2 minutes time).\n\n\n\nWhen the Mayor calls for public comment on the item on which you wish to speak\, use the “Raise Hand” feature by clicking on the hand icon at the bottom of your screen to notify the host you would like to speak.
