DESCRIPTION:Artist: Crystal Clarity \n\nAs part of the #DefundLine3 Global Day of Action this week – join us in San Anselmo at The Hub in support of water protectors and all activists working to stop climate change on Friday\, August 13th from 3:30-4:30 pm.   (The Hub is located at the corner of Sir Francis Drake & Center Blvds. in Marin County).   This event is sponsored by 350Marin.   You can RSVP below.Bring posters and people power as we help stop the Line 3 pipeline.  Given the ongoing public health risks of COVID – while this event is outdoors\, we still encourage attendees to be mindful of social distancing and wearing of masks. If you feel sick – please stay home. \nTHE SITUATION IN ANISHINAABE TERRITORY IS DIRE RIGHT NOW. \nEnbridge is spilling drilling fluid into the wetlands of the Mississippi headwaters as it rushes to complete the Line 3 pipeline. Hundreds of Water Protectors are chaining themselves to drilling equipment to prevent Enbridge from violating indigenous treaty rights. Enbridge is currently violating 21 river crossings and hundreds of waterways across Minnesota. If completed\, the expanded tar sands pipeline would unleash the emissions equivalent of fifty new coal plants. \n Major banks (such as JPMorgan Chase\, Wells Fargo\, and Citibank) have financed Enbridge and Line 3 to the tune of billions of dollars. And just last month\, some of them again facilitated $1.5 billion in so-called “sustainability loans” to Enbridge. Sustainability-linked loans sound good\, but when you look more closely you’ll see they’re close to meaningless. Enbridge’s “sustainability” loans reward the company for reducing emissions from its buildings and vehicles\, but do nothing to address the oil that flows through its pipelines and is responsible for 99% of its climate pollution.  \n\n  In other words\, according to Wall Street\, so long as Enbridge uses electric vehicles and solar power to build their oil pipelines\, that’s fine. \nThis is greenwashing at its worst — so on Friday\, August 13th\, activists from around the country will demand banks stop funding the Line 3 pipeline\, and all other fossil fuel projects. \nAlso please check out and share last week’s New York Times full-page ad that Water Protectors ran asking President Biden stop Line 3. \nPlease RSVP below to let us know you’re coming.  Thanks! \n \nPost to 350BA
