Come Discuss the Climate Emergency Resolution!

January 28, 2019 at 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

On January 16th, the Fairfax Town Council will consider approving a resolution declaring that a climate emergency threatens our city, region, state, nation, civilization, humanity and the natural world.   Does the resolution have value, or will it just be another piece of paper with little or no impact?  What actions could come out of such a resolution?  Should every town, city, county and state in the country declare a climate emergency?

On January 28th, join 350Marin and Sustainable Fairfax at the Fairfax Library from 7 – 8 pm for presentations and discussion of these questions and many more about the movement among local governments to declare a climate emergency as a basis for local action.  Speakers will include Peter Lacques, JD, former Fairfax Mayor, current Town Council member, and liaison to the Fairfax Climate Action Committee, and Rene Goddard, Fairfax Town Council member and Vice President of Sustainable Fairfax – plus all interested community members who want to make a difference…including You?   If you can, join us at 6:45pm for refreshments before the 7 – 8pm discussion.

See, download and distribute the flyer HERE and RSVP below.
