Let’s Talk About the Politics of Climate Change Today!

It’s June, 2021. Let’s talk about the politics of climate change today! The Biden Administration has been struggling to move effective Green New Deal proposals forward, and, in the last two weeks, Exxon, Chevron, and Shell have been dealt powerful blows to their business models by their own shareholders and by a Dutch court. As an activist organization, we have been very focused on divestment and legislature, and in many respects, we have been successful.    Our aspirational 350 parts per million (ppm) limit to CO2 in the atmosphere has now been buried by the relentless climb in global carbon pollution to the 420 ppm figure we just reached – yet there is a 2030 plan in California to shape the use of the land and water to help sequester carbon and reverse the trend.  Everyone knows we’re now at a crucial point in the struggle to stop climate disruption.  What are the most effective things we can do now to turn the tide?   Can you think of new campaigns that 350Marin can build and promote?
