October 29th Day of Action for a Fossil Free Future!
October 29 at 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Tell the Big Banks to Stop Funding Climate Chaos! Ask Your Neighbors to Move Their Money!
Join us at 3:30 pm for an hour long protest at Citibank, 666 Third Street near 101, in San Rafael! Some signs are provided or bring your own!
Given the ongoing public health risks of COVID – while this event is outdoors, we still encourage attendees to be mindful of social distancing and wearing of masks. If you feel sick – please stay home.
Yesterday, 135 people were arrested for chaining themselves to the White House. Taking action as part of the People V Fossil Fuels week of action, their demand of President Biden was simple: stop fossil fuel projects and declare a climate emergency.
This is vital work. President Biden has massive power to stop and shut down fossil fuel projects ― power that he has so far refused to use. If you are in the DC area, we encourage you to join People vs. Fossil Fuels on the streets every day this week.
It’s also vital to remember that the White House is not the only global power center enabling the climate crisis. Without the backing of major banks, such as Citibank, fossil fuel companies wouldn’t be able to afford to build pipelines like Line 3 and DAPL in the first place.
That’s why we are swamping the office of Citibank CEO Jane Fraser with calls, demanding that Citi stop funding the fossil fuel industry. Can you make a call? We have a call tool and a call script for you to use. All you need to do is pick up the phone and dial.
Please RSVP below to let us know you’re coming Friday, 10/29. Thanks!
